A few more pics...

Hi all, here are a few more pictures of the redevelopment for you all to enjoy. I will endeavour to upload the blog with fresh pictures as much as possible. The house is really coming along now. The top east wing is nearing completion. The only work that ROK have left to complete in this area of the house is final stage of electrics, install the radiators and redo the floor finishes.

Its a very exciting time for us all here on Raasay. The transformation that the house has undergone in the past few months is amazing. When I was looking over the nearly completed east wing I was amazed at the difference. (I will post a picture of the east wing asap). No longer does it feel like the walls are closing in on top of you, or that you might fall through a wall if you lean on it too hard.

All of the Raasay House team are looking forward to having you all come and visit and be amazed at the refurbished Raasay House.

Kirstin and Amelia Grace are all doing well, I have added a better picture of Amelia for everyone to check out....

Windows from the library refurbished and ready to be re-installed.

New stone in place to the exterior of the building.

East wing exterior re-harled and painted.

Re-conditioned gutters ready to be installed.

The latest from the house

Apologies for the delay in getting something down and keeping you up to date.

A lot has happened since we last postedand we have been very busy.

Kirstin and Greg are now the proud parents of Amelia Grace McCulloch. All doing well.

Raasay House is coming on well with painting and decorating happening both internally and externally. Admittedly there is still a lot to do; roofing, wiring, plumbing, painting, flooring etc etc.

The new build workshop, office and changing block is built and getting decorated in an ex shipbuilding shed on the Clyde and should be delivered and fitted in the next couple of weeks. I think that the transportation of the built, complete compartments will be worth seeing! There will be a few articulated lorries and a crane coming to Raasay to put it all into position. Negotiating the ferry and the trees on the drive and avoiding all the trees will be a challenge in itself!

We have been busy with the Clifton Hall summer programme as well as having various school groups at Comrie Croft in Perthshire. All has gone well with the groups , however, it will be good to get back to Raasay. There is an awful lot of travelling and carting of equipment all over the country.

We have had a great staff team this year and they have been very supportive in the circumstances. They just all seem to go with the flow and adapt to the venue that they are working in.

The ferry terminal is progressing in front of the house with the expected finish for August next year.

All in all a busy little place waiting to welcome you all back in the very near future.
